Glenmorangie uses the tallest whisky stills in Scotland in order to produce a spirt of rare class and delicacy. After traditional maturation in bourbon cask, the distillery transfers this whisky to Oloroso Sherry casks for the last stage of maturation. This lends a uniquely full-bodied, creamy character with notes of nuts, dried fruits and honey. The Lasanta is never chill filtered, which imparts added body, taste and texture to the spirt. If you haven’t tried this scotch yet, make sure you do.
Nose: Evident sherry – dried fruits and dusty caramel. As this is finished in sherry, not matured in it, the effect is milder and the fruit less robust than Macallan or GlenDronach.
Palate: Deliciously sweet sherry flavorful sultanas, orange segments, walnuts and butterscotch combine to create complex warm spices.
Finish: Long and satisfying finish with spiced orange and chocolate covered hazelnuts.
