Why working sleeve buttons are a signature of Bespoke suits.
Many guys ask the question “If I purchase a bespoke suit, instead of an off
the rack suit, will I be able to tell the difference?”
The answer to that question is yes.
There are many differences between
a bespoke suit and an off the rack suit, but we will focus on
just one: Working Buttons.
Why are working buttons a signature of bespoke suits
and not off the rack?
The reason is because off the rack suits are mass produced. The
designer can’t spend the the time to personalize each garment.
With bespoke, a person can not only pick the number of buttons he
wants on his sleeve ( 2,3,4 etc.) , he can also pick if he wants the buttons
kissing or not, and the color stitching he wants on the button
What do working buttons show ?
They show people that the person wearing the garment pays attention
to detail. A man that focuses on details, is a man who is detailed and
disciplined in all area’s of life.
How should you wear a suit that has working buttons?
First thing you can’t do is keep all the buttons fastened. That defeats the
purpose of having working buttons. Some people go more aggressive and
unbutton all of the buttons. A good rule of thumb though, the is if you have
more than three buttons on a sleeve, unfasten the first two buttons.
Why should you get a bespoke suit with working buttons instead
of an off the rack suit?
Frankly, it just looks cooler! So, are your working your buttons. The only way
you can work you buttons is by going with Bespoke instead of an
off the rack suit.
